Except for the bride, you can’t get anything much prettier than a macaron tower at a wedding. Beautiful, colourful and small enough to have two or ten without feeling guilty, what’s not to love?
Packed full of flavour, macarons en masse make the most gorgeous centrepiece, especially when they’re mounted together to create what has come to be known as a macaron tower, or a macaron tower cake.
What is a macaron tower? If you’re here I’m guessing you know, but these little treats often get confused with the similar sounding “macaroon”. In fact, I wouldn’t be completely surprised if you got here Googling “Wedding macaroon tower”. I’m sure macaroons are delicious, but they wouldn’t make for half as stunning a tower as a macaron tower. Let me show you.
Exhibit A: A macaroon:

A macaron is probably what you’re looking for, two lovely little shells sandwiched with buttercream or ganache – yum! The macaron tower is the pinnacle of French chic. Walk past any French patisserie, and it’s difficult not to be drawn in by the impressively tall tiers of the pastel coloured shells. I can’t be quite sure where the idea to pile them on top of each other came from, but what a fabulous idea!
Whether you use them as an alternative to a wedding cake, or for a sweet addition to your drinks reception, let’s discuss all the fantastic features that make the macaron tower a must-have at your wedding.

- Macaron towers make stunning centrepieces. Whenever I’ve had the pleasure of setting up one of these beauties at a wedding, I always get a message from the bridal couple to state that it was one of the most talked about and enjoyed wedding details by the guests. Ten tiers of these perfectly round delicacies, bursting with colour and flavour would look incredible in any room. It is a completely effortless way to elevate your wedding guest experience, and create a memorable moment all at once.

2. The visual appeal of the macaron tower is further strengthened by the personalisation possibilities. I’ve made macarons in every colour – pink, purple, baby blue, black, metallic gold, silver – you name it, it’s possible. This makes the macaron tower an effortless way to convey your colour scheme. For such a large centrepiece, it can compliment your other décor in a unique and appealing way. My favourite way to personalise macarons is to feature your initials on them. You can just imagine how impressive your guests would find this little element, a lovely and discreet way to share your bespoke wedding favours.

3. Macaron towers provide an alternative treat for any guests you might have, who don’t eat cake. It goes without saying that I think a beautiful wedding cake is an integral part of a wedding celebration. But what about those guests who don’t or can’t eat cake. Macarons are gluten free and depending on the flavour – can be made dairy free, too. Your guests who have dietary requirements will thank you for providing such a delightful alternative for them to enjoy.

4. Each of our macaron towers has anywhere between 150 – 300 macarons. This means you can have multiple flavours in any one tower, guaranteeing your guests will be reaching for more than one. With your guests standing around the tower, champagne in hand, it’s a great talking point, conversation starter and an excellent photo opportunity.

5. The perfect accompaniment to cake! Macarons compliment cakes extremely well. You can have a macaron tower with a cake to crown it, or create a gorgeous visual display of a cake alongside a macaron tower. This option is the best of both worlds, giving your guests a choice. A macaron tower is a very simple yet impactful way to feature a dessert table at your wedding. And in my opinion, a dessert table just isn’t complete without a macaron tower!
